If you want some cheap entertainment ask a swimming coach to regale you with some their stories. The “I’m doing an Ironman tomorrow: can you teach me to swim?” is not fictional, although it might be slightly exaggerated.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving in the United States and you may have noticed a number of Facebook and blog posts listing reasons why we should be grateful for swimming. So, in the spirit of sharing (and plagiarism) here are seven reasons to be thankful for open water swimming.
From an open water swimming perspective, this winter feels different. Previously, except for a few determined individuals, the ‘season’ effectively finished at the end of September. This year, a lot more people seem interested in continuing swimming outside for as long as possible.
